hoje pude ter o privilégio de visitar a residência de um professor da unemat que é responsável pela criação dos únicos pássaros tangarás que existem em tangará. o macho é amarelo, azul e preto, muito vistoso. a fêmea é verdinha, bem discreta. em breve estes pássaros serão instalados num viveiro próprio, localizado num parque no centro da cidade chamado de bosque. após esta visita, hellen me levou ao seu trabalho na faculdade que está implantando no curso de direito uma especialidade em direito indígena. pude conhecer dois alunos e presenciar a matricula de um deles, recém aprovado no vestibular. depois conheci o laboratório de informática, onde desenvolvem a página da faculdade e onde os alunos podem fazer pesquisa na internet. voltamos para o almoço, quando me despedi desta família tão carinhosa.

today i visited the house of one of the professor's of the university of mato grosso who takes care of the only tangará birds that exist now in this region. the male is covered with bright yellow, blue and black feathers. the female is green...so different and so beautiful. these birds will soon be transferred to a local park where a special place has been built for them. hopefully they will survive and multiply. later, hellen took me to one of the schools that she teaches and we met two indian students of the law program, one of them was just registering for the first semester. hellen showed me the computer lab, where they develop their homepage and where the students access the internet. we went back home for lunch and then i said good-bye to this wonderful family.
